 Is it okay to wash the C8 Corvette engine bay? The answer is a resounding YES! You can safely clean the C8 Corvette engine bay by using a water hose or pressure washer as long as you follow the recommended guidelines for pressure washing and cleaning/maintenance by GM. The C8 Corvette Owner's Manual outlines the instructions and specifications for pressure washing the engine bay. However, C8RallyDriver advises against aggressively spraying the engine or electrical components directly with a pressure washer. Instead, a light washing, drying, and detailing of the engine bay is part of good maintenance practice.

The C8 engine bay has been designed with water collection and drainage holes in all four corners and along the rear edge of the trunk.  How does the C8 Corvette engine bay get dirty to begin with?

The engine bay gets dirty due to the dust and water spray that enters the engine bay while driving. While some dust and water may enter through the heat vents on either side of the rear window, most of it enters from underneath the car. Dust and water spray are lifted upwards around the engine by the vacuum and pulled into the engine bay, where it settles.
